Rune history & modern reflection
About Rune Divination
Explore the symbols. Understand the context. Keep your own perspective.
Rune Divination brings together guides to rune meanings, historical alphabets and modern casting practices, alongside information for comparing reading options.

A note from Deanna Tyler
My interest in runes grew after studying in Scandinavia, where older stories and traditions remain part of the cultural landscape. I created this website for people curious about rune symbols, casting and interpretation. Whether you are learning for yourself or considering a reading, start with curiosity and leave room for questions.
Find your starting point
Explore the history
Learn where runic writing fits into the past before treating every modern meaning as an ancient teaching.
Understand the alphabets
Compare Elder and Younger Futhark and choose a set that fits what you want to study.
Question a modern custom
Explore the blank-rune debate and the difference between a historical character and a modern addition.
History and interpretation are different questions
What the evidence can show
Runes are characters in historical writing systems, not simply symbols invented for fortune-telling. The National Museum of Denmark’s introduction to runes describes their use across the Iron Age, Viking Age and Middle Ages.
Where personal meaning begins
A modern casting can be used as a prompt for journaling or exploring a question. Finding an interpretation meaningful does not establish that it predicts an event or reveals another person’s thoughts. Keep practical decisions grounded in information you can check.
Considering a rune reading?
Use the directory as a starting point, then ask whether a reader actually works with runes. Confirm the format, full price and cancellation terms before booking; a rating alone does not verify predictive ability.
